CHOKING HAZARD — Small parts. Not for children under 3 yrs.

Staunton chess sets are the standard chess sets we are familiar with. The distinctive Knight, Bishop, and Rook are easily recognized symbols of chess the world over. The Staunton design was created by Nathanial Cook and first sold by Jaques of London in 1849. There are other designs; themes based on movies, great battles, or favorite characters, but when displaying a set nothing says “This is chess” like the standard chess sets of Staunton design.

Whether marble, wood, plastic, gold and silver, crystal, resin, coral, or glass, we have a Staunton Chess Set that will appeal to you.

Note that not all Staunton chess sets are considered tournament legal due to the size of the pieces. A tournament chess set must have 2 1/4″ squares and the King must be between 3 3/4″ and 4 1/4″.

We have been playing chess for over 50 years and it gives us pride to be able to offer you the highest quality chess sets that are available. We believe that chess is a window into life for any player, and we would like everyone to have the opportunity to experience the thrill of a well-played game on a board they can be proud of. Whether a first-time player, or a master, we have the set you are looking for.

Here at Chess Sets Pro our focus is on customer service, if you have a question about any of our sets, or just want to discuss a fantastic chess experience, we would love to hear from you!
